What is a breast screening?. Breast screening aims to find breast cancer as early as possible, before the people realize the symptoms and when the opportunity to recover higher. Screening program abroad as in the United Kingdom, invites all women aged between 50 and 70 for mammografi done every three years. Breast screening tool called a mammogram. There are a few of the largest breast cancer risk, women who are at high risk with a family history of breast cancer screening, are offered at the age younger.

What can show breast screening?

A mammogram can show different changes in normal breast tissue. Cancer can appear as bumps or irregular shape. Early cancer is more difficult to see. Not all cancers show up on mammograms and some of the changes indicated are not necessarily caused by cancer. If any changes are visible on a mammogram, then further examination will be carried out, including a biopsy (tissue sampling) to find out exactly what the changes are.

Breast screening doesn't save lives. Breast screening programme mean that 1,300 breast cancer deaths could be prevented every year. Each breast cancer deaths can be prevented by screening so that it will not be fatal in their lives. Breast screening is not mandatory and it is up to the individual to weigh up the benefits and the risks. Screening can reduce the risk of death from breast cancer.

What are the symptoms of breast cancer?

Some people see the lumps in their breasts. Most lumps turn out not to be cancer. The bumps might be benign, non-cancerous cysts, for example. But further tests with some bumps can be confirmed as cancer. Women should be aware of what is normal for them so they can see every change.

Changes are displayed in the form of a lump or thickening of the breast, dimples on the skin, change the size or lines on the breast, changes the appearance of the nipple, there is bleeding from the nipple and lumps in the armpit area. This change does not always mean you have cancer but it is important to consult with your doctor if you experience these symptoms.

How to predict the development of breast cancer?

There is research how to predict the development of breast cancer. Thus it can be seen whether the cancer will spread in the future. The study involved 1,162 women over eight years and they found the three biomarkers that became the benchmark of developing invasive breast cancer.

How is it treated?

Treatment for breast cancer depends on many factors, including cancer stage, breast cancer type and size of the cancer. Your doctor may want to do more tests for medical purposes. There are several different options for dealing with breast cancer, including:

Surgery

Most people with breast cancer undergo surgery. Early cancers can be lifted out by means of a lumpectomy, and leave the rest of the breast intact. If breast cancer is larger whole may need to be removed. This action is known as a mastectomy.

hormone therapy

Some breast cancers may be sensitive to hormones such as estrogen. In this case, the treatment aims to block the action of these hormones.

therapeutic Target

Therapeutic Target to see if the cancer cells will respond to drugs that inhibit the growth and spread of cancer by interfering with the biology of cancer cells. The most famous of which is the drug trastuzumab (Herceptin). There is research on the combination drug of breast cancer, where treatment with a combination of drugs for breast cancer targets the protein produced in a quarter of breast cancer.

Radiotherapy

May be given before surgery to shrink the tumor or after surgery to prevent the cancer coming back.

chemotherapy

It is the use of drugs that kill cancer cells. Drugs used depending on the nature of the tumor. They can be given before or after surgery.
